Essential information

  • Four required skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
  • A total published test duration of 2 hours 47 minutes.
  • More than 5,000 Pack Ayoub exercises from the 2019–2026 collection.
  • Unlimited simulations and AI correction calibrated to TCF criteria.

What you need to know

The TCF Canada tests four abilities: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The published test time is 2 hours 47 minutes: 39 listening questions in 35 minutes, 39 reading questions in 60 minutes, three writing tasks in 60 minutes, and three speaking tasks in 12 minutes.

This guide explains what each part demands and how to train it with the Pack Ayoub collection. Start with the format, identify the decisions that cost you points, and use exercises from 2019–2026 to build speed, precision, and confidence.

What Pack Ayoub gives you in one preparation platform

Pack Ayoub brings together more than 5,000 TCF Canada exercises from the 2019–2026 collection. You can prepare listening, reading, writing, and speaking without rebuilding your study system across scattered websites and documents.

Every plan includes unlimited writing simulations, unlimited speaking simulations, unlimited AI conversations, unlimited analyses and feedback, AI correction calibrated to TCF criteria, personalised progress tracking, and priority technical support. Express, Standard, and Premium differ by access duration, not by the core preparation features.

  • 39 reading-comprehension exams with more than 1,000 texts and images.
  • 36 listening-comprehension exams with more than 1,000 audio extracts.
  • 29 recent writing topics with AI correction.
  • 29 recent speaking topics with AI-powered simulation.

The four skills you need to prepare

Listening and reading test how efficiently you can identify meaning, intention, detail, and context. Speaking and writing ask you to produce an appropriate response for a specific situation. These skills reinforce one another, but each needs its own practice routine.

  • Listening: follow the situation and select relevant information.
  • Reading: understand purpose, structure, vocabulary, and inference.
  • Speaking: organise ideas and communicate clearly in real time.
  • Writing: answer the task, structure the message, and revise efficiently.

Start with evidence, not guesswork

Complete a realistic first attempt in every skill and record what slowed you down. A useful diagnosis is specific: perhaps you miss numbers in audio, reread long texts, take too long to plan, or use a narrow range of connectors. That evidence gives your study plan a direction.

Treat practice estimates and AI feedback as educational signals rather than official results. Only the authorised examination process can provide an official TCF Canada score.

Build a preparation loop

A strong session has four parts: choose one objective, complete a timed attempt, review the causes of each error, and repeat a targeted version of the task. Tracking this loop over time is more useful than simply counting completed exercises.

  • Work on one clearly defined weakness at a time.
  • Practise under realistic time constraints regularly.
  • Keep an error log and turn corrections into another attempt.
  • Use official sources to confirm current test and registration rules.

Keep test scores, CEFR levels and NCLC levels separate

The test provider reports performance by skill. Canadian immigration programmes then apply their own requirements and conversion rules. Do not turn a total from an unofficial quiz into an immigration conclusion: first identify the programme, confirm its current requirement on an official Canadian page, and keep all four skills visible.

A preparation target should be operational. Instead of writing only ‘reach NCLC 7’, define what must improve in each skill: fewer missed changes of opinion in listening, quicker evidence finding in reading, complete task coverage in writing, or more responsive follow-up questions in speaking.

  • Use IRCC for current immigration requirements.
  • Use France Education international for the official test format.
  • Use practice estimates only to organise learning, never as an official result.

Original reading example: an offer with a condition

Practice exercise

A community centre writes: ‘Saturday morning is full. We can offer you a place on Sunday at 10 a.m., provided that you confirm before Friday at noon.’ Is the person already registered for Sunday?

Suggested answer

No. A place has been offered, but the person must still confirm before the deadline.

Why this answer works

The offer and the registration are two different stages. The condition identifies the action that is still missing.

The word ‘full’ describes Saturday’s availability; it does not mean that the Saturday event has been cancelled. This is why evidence matters more than a familiar keyword.

Build your first week of preparation

  1. 1

Day 1 — define the requirement

Confirm your intended test, timeline and language requirement using official sources. Record the date on which you checked them.

  2. 2

    Days 2 and 3 — diagnose

Complete a short, unfamiliar activity in every skill. Record time, accuracy, hesitation and the cause of each important error.

  3. 3

Days 4 and 5 — repair one weakness

Choose one high-impact problem, study it carefully, then test the same operation on a different topic.

  4. 4

Day 6 — work under time pressure

Complete a timed task without pausing. Compare the result with your untimed work instead of treating the score in isolation.

  5. 5

    Day 7 — make a decision

Select one main priority and one maintenance skill for the next week. Reserve time for correction as well as attempts.

Registration and test-day information belong to official sources

Approved centres manage dates, availability, identification requirements, fees and local instructions. These details may differ by centre and may change. Confirm them directly before paying or travelling, and keep the confirmation you receive.

Pack Ayoub is an independent preparation platform. It can help you understand methods and practise the four skills, but it does not administer the TCF Canada, reserve a place, issue an attestation or guarantee an immigration outcome.

Frequently asked questions

Should I begin with a complete mock test?

Not necessarily. Short diagnostic activities in all four skills can identify priorities without exhausting you. Use a full timed simulation later to test endurance and coordination.

Can I prepare for TCF Canada only on my phone?

A phone can support listening, reading and short review sessions. Practise longer writing on a comfortable keyboard and test your microphone and audio setup before speaking work.

Does Pack Ayoub provide an official TCF Canada score?

No. Pack Ayoub provides educational practice and feedback. Only the authorised examination process issues an official result.

Should I memorise complete speaking and writing answers?

Memorised scripts are fragile when the prompt changes. Prepare structures, examples and useful language, then practise adapting them to unfamiliar situations.
