What you will master

The big picture

The four tests, their formats and what they measure, your scores and NCLC levels, and what matters most when you build your application.

A numbered target

The equivalence table published by IRCC, three steps to set your target level for each test and a simple rule to split your time.

A method for each test

The 5 markers, the 4 operations and proof, the flash plan and the 10-second launch, summarised on one page with a complete guide for each test.

A 30-day plan and exam day

An express diagnostic, a week-by-week plan, the 10 most common preparation mistakes and a checklist for the day before and the day of the exam.

A preview: the four methods on one page

Each test has its own core technique. The ultimate guide gathers them on a single page, then points to a complete practical guide for each. You know from day one where to start. The exam is in French, so the technique names below come with their French terms.

The ultimate guide adds the NCLC table, your target table, the express diagnostic and a week-by-week 30-day plan.

One core technique for each test:

  1. 1

    Listening

    « Les 5 repères »

The 5 markers: speaker, intention, time, condition, point of view. Read the question before the audio, note three keywords, decide, move on.

  2. 2

    Reading

« Les 4 opérations et la preuve »

The 4 operations and proof: place, locate, interpret, verify. For every answer, a sentence of the text that proves it.

  3. 3

    Writing

    « Le plan éclair »

The flash plan: three minutes to set reader, required contents, structure, tools and word count. Then a 4-pass proofread.

  4. 4

    Speaking

    « Le sas de 10 secondes »

The 10-second launch: define the key word in one sentence, state your position, start your first argument.

Frequently asked questions about the guide

Is the guide really free?
Yes. An email address is all you need to receive it, with no payment and no credit card. You do not need a Pack Ayoub account to download it.
Who is the ultimate guide for?
Anyone preparing the TCF Canada: it gives the big picture (tests, scores, NCLC levels, target, work plan), then points to a complete practical guide for each of the four tests.
Is the NCLC table up to date?
It reproduces the equivalence table published by IRCC for the TCF Canada, checked on 27 October 2026. Because that table can change, the guide invites you to confirm it on the official IRCC page before you set your target.
Do I also need the guides for each test?
The ultimate guide is enough to build your plan. The guides for each test (listening, reading, writing, speaking) go much further on method: they are all free and listed inside the guide.
What are CLB and NCLC?
CLB (Canadian Language Benchmarks) and NCLC (Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens) are the English and French names of the same scale. IRCC converts your TCF Canada scores into those levels, test by test.
How long does it take to apply the plan?
Allow 25 minutes to read the guide, then 45 to 60 minutes a day for 30 days with the included plan. It suits a level already close to your target; otherwise allow several weeks of regular practice.
Is there a French edition?
Yes. The French edition is on the French page of the guide.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every Pack Ayoub email contains an unsubscribe link: one click is enough, at any time.
